Read on for exciting fishing in the Weequahic Park Lake.  Including pictures and links from New Jersey's Carp Anglers Group.

On Saturday, April 22, 2006 the Carp Anglers Group (CAG)  held a Fish-in at the Weequahic Park Lake.  Despite a cold and rainy day, fishing was good.

Meet part of the group that braved the cold and raining day (a good day for carp fishing) of fishing at Weequahic Park Lake.  (From Left to right:  Paul Nevadomski, Simon from New York City, and Oleg from Brooklyn, New York)  Miguel Angelo is pictured below:

Fishermen traveled from afar to fish at Weequahic Park Lake.  Pictured  here, is Val from upstate New York with the biggest catch of the day - weighing in at 18+ pounds!

Another big one caught by Miguel Angelo!

Miguel again in 2005, with the biggest carp yet - weighing in at a whopping 37.5 pounds!!!

Following is an excerpt from the Carp Anglers Group web site.  A must see for avid fishermen, women and child!

The Carp Anglers Group (CAG) is an organization of avid carp anglers from the United States, Canada, Great Britain and beyond.  Dr. Michael J. Keyes founded the group in 1993 as a specialty section within the American Fishing Association. It has since evolved into an independent educational and social group devoted to fishing for carp. The organization has established a set of principles that help guide us:

  • Gain acceptance of the carp as an exciting and challenging sportfish.

  • Become better carp anglers, assist others and encourage them to join us.

  • Treat the carp with respect. Promote the release of trophy-size carp. Encourage others to do the same.

  • Most of all: go fishing, share with others, and have fun!
