The overall goal of the Weequahic Park Association (WPA) is the redevelopment, restoration and conservation of Weequahic Park, an area of great historical significance.  The Weequahic Park Association believes very strongly that such an effort will strengthen the resolve of the entire community to:

  • Renew its involvement in this unprecedented “grassroots” effort.

  • Convince potential investors and donors that the overall restoration/ redevelopment plan, now being updated is feasible.

  • Support events (festivals and other fundraising efforts) that enhance the credibility of the effort.

  • Use this effort as a means of pursuing “giants” of the entertainment industry to display their talents in the park.

  • Create funding mechanisms to support vital park services.

  • Generate jobs for the community through park services.

  • Provide wholesome educational, recreational and care giving opportunities to the children of the area as well as enjoyable leisure time activities for adults.
